Welcome
Dear Friends:
Thank you for visiting the TCU Cello Studio's webpage. Through the efforts of Ignacy Grelazka and Romel Shearer with the entire cello studio, we are now able to give you a taste of what cellists do at TCU: develop as cellists, musicians and young artists, play in a variety of settings such as in lessons, studio classes, in the TCU Cello Ensemble, in degree recitals, class recitals (with such class projects as the complete Preludes by Sofia Gubaidulina, the complete Piatti Caprices, and soon the complete Duport Exercises in original setting with cello II), Cello Ensemble concerts, chamber music ensembles, orchestra, opera, Collegium Musicum TCU, the New Music Ensemble, play for guests in master-classes, watch, and proudly host the biennial TCU Cellofest.
Above all, cellists enjoy a strong team spirit where challenges and successes are shared and lifelong friendships are formed.
If you like your virtual visit, we hope that you will make plans to see us in person!
Warmly,
Dr. Jesús Castro-Balbi
